Rick Williams Award of Excellence

The Annual Rick Williams Presidential Award of Excellence

This annual award is established to honor our past President who died tragically in April of 2009.

Purpose:
The award recognizes an individual of the CEP Ontario Energy Council whose innovation and leadership result in significant, positive impacts enabling the CEP to more effectively carry out its missions.

Criteria and Award Categories:
The President’s Award for Excellence recognizes individuals who show outstanding innovation or creativity when confronted with challenges, issues or a need or desire for improvement.
An innovative member will possess or demonstrate some of, if not all of the below:
•    Proactively identifies areas that can be improved on
•    Actively seeks information to improve processes and or services
•    Identifies new and creative ways of addressing processes or delivering services
•    Works to implement change in a positive manner and strives to ensure its success
•    Mentors and cultivates employers and workers alike, creating a culture of respect where information sharing, communication, delegation, and the expansion of knowledge, skills and abilities are valued.
•    Promotes diversity, accountability and responsibility within the organization
•    Takes ownership of organizational or personnel issues and works collaboratively to find solutions
•    Assists people or organizations outside their own local
•    Finds other ways to contribute to the success of their organization and peers

Honorees will be chosen based on their creativity and the impact of their actions, as well as the impact of the innovation itself. Strong nominees will likely exhibit more than one of the points listed above.
Nomination and Award Process:
All members of the CEP Ontario Energy Council are eligible for this award.   All members of the CEP Ontario Energy Council are encouraged to acknowledge the hard work and achievements of their co-workers, colleagues and peers by nominating them for a President’s Award of Excellence.
The following information is required for this award:
•    The name of the nominator and the nominee
•    A two sentence summary of the reason for the nomination
•    The date (if possible) of when the accomplishment occurred
•    Describe how the accomplishment relates to the qualities of innovation or leadership
•    Explain who the accomplishment benefits, and how it benefits the organization
•    An explanation of why this individual, or their accomplishment, is important to the organization

All applications for this award must be received no later than 30 days prior to the annual conference.

The Reward and Recognition Committee will review all eligible nominations and select the President’s Award for Excellence recipient, subject to the approval by the Ontario Energy Council President, or delegate thereof.
